A single fixed Velux skylight installed typically costs $1,800–$2,800 depending on roof pitch, access, and flashing complexity. Electric opening skylights with blinds are $3,200–$4,500. We give a fixed written price after the site visit — never an estimate over the phone.
Not if it's installed correctly. We use full Velux flashing kits designed for Queensland weather, with sarking and proper overlap. Every skylight comes with a weatherproofing guarantee — if it leaks due to our installation, we come back and fix it at no charge.
Depends on your roof structure and ceiling height. Most Queenslanders and post-war homes have enough space for a conversion if the ridge is high enough (minimum 2.4m clearance). The site visit includes a structural check — we'll tell you what's possible and whether council approval is needed.
Most single skylight installs are done in one day. Multiple skylights or complex roofs (tile, steep pitch, difficult access) take 1–2 days. Attic conversions with floor framing, stairs, and electrical typically take 3–5 days.
Most standard skylight installations in Brisbane are exempt (under 10m² roof penetration, no structural changes). Attic conversions that add habitable floor area usually require approval. We'll advise you at the site visit and can handle the paperwork if needed.
